Brush Knot Characteristics
Determining the characteristics of a brush can not be done from the Knot Type only. You need to also consider the Brush Handle Size, Knot Diameter & Loft Size. These details can be found on each product page and an overall explanation of Brush Backbone can be found here. Generally all YAQI brushes are of a "BULB" shape, they have found this to be the most effective and sought after shape.
You will find a couple of "FAN" Shapes as well as some "BULB" shapes that verge on a "HYBRID" Shape but still lean more towards the "BULB".
Wet Shaving is a very personal experience and as such CHOICE is an important factor when choosing your shaving hardware. YAQI brushes come in all shapes, sizes and colours - Which is your favourite?
Shaving satisfaction comes when all elements of your shave come together in harmony. YAQI hopes to be able to give you a brush that will exceed your expectations both practically and aesthetically.
The difference between them all…
As shaving is a very personal experience and you will find that shavers have different preferences in their brush. It is really a matter of experimenting until you find a combination you really like. To start with though you should look at the each brush and ask yourself a few straight forward questions.
1. Do you like the look?
2. Does the handle size suit your hand size and grip?
3. Do you want Synthetic or Badger Hair?
Apart from the characteristics that relate to size there are also more subtle characteristics that come from the combination of handle size, knot size and method of assembly. These more subtle characteristics will give the brush its “backbone” a term given to the resistance the brush will give you when pushed against your face or bowl.Visit our Youtube Channel
